Mother's Day Ideas

Mother's day is always a nice time to make your Mummy feel good even though it shouldn't take a day to say how you feel!

Below are a few ideas for your Mummy/Wife etc or you could even let her have a lie in :)

I know Katherine loves painting her nails so you could always get her a nail kit which even comes with a UV light - priced at £40.85 which is very cost effective.

Now every woman I know loves receiving a bouquet of flowers, ideal if you are away or wanting something extra but I find them quite vague sometimes. There are some lovely florists around but I like to use Flowers by Hannah - she makes lovely arrangements and bespoke tailored to your needs.

Pandora bracelets and charms are an easy way for some people to put their words into a special piece of jewellery - they have a charm for every occasion like this Mummy one

One other thing I was thinking of is something they may find useful is that perfume which makes them smell gorgeous - I personally am extremely fussy when it comes to how I smell but I like Paco Rabanne Lady Million! Prices vary for 50ml but expect to pay around £43.50

Mums - what are you hoping for on this Mother's day, is it your first, third?

I would love to hear from you :)

Christening!

Sooo we finally booked Reuben's christening at our local church in Basingstoke for the 4th May!

We managed to find a suitable smart outfit for him but made sure he will be comfortable in it during the day, hopefully the weather is nice but not too warm for our little bear :)

We take Reuben to church every Sunday and he seems to spend most of it just sat on Daddy's lap or in his car seat staring at the walls..bless him!

Are you getting your child baptised, if so how hard was picking the godparents for you?

Jabs

And so the time came and went for Reuben to have his jabs which wasn't a pleasant experience for my little chap!

He sobbed for a 10 minute period then fell asleep bless him, it came to light later in the evening just how uncomfortable he was as he was waking every few hours screaming which is very strange for him.

We have been seeing how Reuben gets along with using Gaviscon with his milk and touch wood he is a LOT less sicky and rarely brings any up now, it has been an absolute godsend and helps him to settle rather quickly (very handy during the night...if he wakes :))

How is your baby feeding, any reflux/sick?

Personalities!

Got those dreaded jabs this week and Mummy doesn't like needles so I am going to attempt holding Roo bear whilst he is poked and prodded - fingers crossed!

Recently Reuben has gained such a personality, he loves to talk to himself and then seems to laugh at what he has just said, this is especially prominent when we are trying to put him to bed :) it is quite scary how quickly they grow up and when people tell you to cherish the first few months as they fly they really mean it!

Now I still remember when we were at the first scan phase of the pregnancy so it's quite a jump.

There is no greater feeling when you wake up to a smiley baby, no matter what the problem is it instantly goes away and you just want to hold them so tightly because they bring such delight to your life.

Being a father is the single greatest thing in the world and I almost feel like I would give up anything so Reuben had everything.

He has just started sleeping through the night so we are delighted and following the same pattern each night seems to have paid off (bath, bottle & bed) I know he is only 9 weeks but IMO it is never too early to start a routine or to bring a familiar pattern to a child.

Reuben also seems to want to put everything in his mouth and this is no understatement so upon consulting the HV she said to purchase a teether or soft toy to see if this helps, it's often the case that the feed before bed Reuben will just play with the teet and not take any milk as if it's a comfort to him - we were also advised to prepare to teethe him earlier than normal (eeek!)

I will write a follow up post on this and what route we have decided to go down!

Bye for now!
